| Holocaust Remembrance DaySo I bet you all didn't know that today is Holocaust Remembrance Day?
So today, for Chabad and Hillel Clubs, in my college, had a Holocaust survivor, Zofie, who originally came from Hungary, and is 95 to speak to us while having bagels and lox.
This day is also a big day today for me, because I was remembering my own grandparents who survived the Holocaust as well as remembering my Bubbla. I really miss a lot my grandma, who passed away recently. She was a very strong lady.
Now, today is a day for reflection on how not to let people to discriminate you for your religion, your thoughts, your race, for anything as well as a day for me to reflect how to be a good person and do good to the world.
Of course, I am a little mad that I forgot to write about the Holocaust Remembrance Day, and the fact that there is still antisemitism in the world today, or the fact that people think that the Holocaust didn't even happen at all and that is all a hoax (=[)
Another thing that I hate is how one of my friend was like shouldn't we just kill all the stupid people in the world. (That's how genocide first starts...)
I am going to go and study and hopefully become a successful doctor, and help society in good ways. Maybe tonight I will go buy a homeless person a meal or something.
I wonder if any of you, my readers, care about this day or history at all?
Don't ever let this happen again!
(All genocide is wrong from the first recorded historical genocide: Assyrian empire, from the Old testament: Amalekotes, And Midianites, Genghis Khan, the Native Americans, the Tasmanian Aboriginal, Irish, Circassian, the Armenians, Assyruans, Greeks, Holocaust (Includes: Jews, Gypsies, Blacks, Homosexuals, Communists, Serbs, Romanians, Polish, etc), Holodomor, Zanizibar, Guatemala, Bangladesh, Burundi, Eqyatorial Guinea, Khemer Rouge (in Cambodia), East Timor (under Indonesian occupation), Japanese (the genocide of Chinese and other asian countries during WWII), Argentina, Sabra and Shatila massacre (Lebanon), Stalin (Russia), Ethiopia, Iraqi Kurds, Tibet, the helmet Massacre of the Tikuna people (Brazil), during the Congo civil war the Pygmies were hunted down and eaten by both sides of the war, and were regardsed as "subhuman," the Khojaly Massacre the killing of Azerbaijani by Amernian armed forces, West New Guinea/West Papua, Sri Lankan Tamils, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Rwanda, the most recent, Darfur, Sudan. While today is Holocaust Rememberance Day, I commerate all the genocides and atrocities that people have done to other people. No one should be called subhuman, we are all equal when it comes to blood, and flesh. Don't ever let any genocide happen again!
